To be an exemplary community based netball club, committed to the provision of personal development in all aspects of netball and general health and well-being, enabling individuals to achieve their personal best within a caring community environment.
To promote equal opportunities, accessibility and inclusion opportunities for all members of SWAN netball club, actively encouraging and supporting enjoyment and personal skill development through commitment, dedication and sound management principles and practices.
Our club has been running for over 20 years. We have a number of qualified umpires, from C award to Beginners. We also have six England Netball Level 2 and three Level 1 coaches. We actively encourage members to take umpiring and coaching courses.
Club Action Planning Scheme
At SWAN Netball Club we are proud to hold the bronze accrediation.
CAPS is aligned to the Sport England Club mark accreditation scheme, which is the only national cross sports quality accreditation scheme for clubs with junior sections. It is built around a set of core criteria that ensure that accredited clubs operate to a set of consistent, accepted and adopted minimum operating standards.
Clubs achieving this accreditation are recognised nationally as having a well run club which is active and accessible. This means getting the best out of young people and giving everyone a sporting chance.
New for the 2019-2020 season
We will be adding an additional tier to our coaching provision. This will be a link between our current training sessions and the England Netball Pathway (via County or Superleague Academies), meaning Swan can be represented in higher level leagues and compete against stronger opposition. This Performance Academy will be open to players from U11 to Seniors via an annual open trial system.
